Swimming Aquatics

In YMCA aquatic programs, participants are taught not only swimming skills but also skills that will allow them to enjoy aquatic activities throughout their lives. The program content is based on developing a healthy spirit, mind, and body. Our aquatic programs are especially attractive to parents because of the way in which students are taught swimming and water safety skills. Instruction is delivered in a student-centered, caring atmosphere by trained instructors who give students personalized attention. Lessons are developmentally appropriate and designed to quickly and effectively teach aquatic skills. Children like YMCA programs because they start with those skills that they are ready to learn. They are able to succeed often, which helps them build self-confidence, and they enjoy learning swimming, water safety, and water sports skills. Most important, however, children have a great time learning swimming skills and making new friends.

Swim Lessons:

Swimming is a valuable life skill that could keep you and your family safe. Join swim lessons and help to prevent drowning. Learning to swim is important for everyone; not just the child. For this reason adult lessons are also available upon request. Contact  Jessie Harrington 541-926-4488 ext 305. We provide group  and private adult lessons as well as basic water skills that could help save a life.

Swim Lessons are divided by age and swimming ability. Lessons teach basic swimming strokes, floating, treading water and basic water safety. Class size is limited.
