Chris Reese

Chris has been the Chief Executive Officer at the Y for 7 years. Prior to leading the Y, Chris had a long career of service including, 23 years of service in the United States Army, 1 year as a Linn County Deputy, and many years as a Y board member. Chris earned his bachelor's in criminal justice and master's in public administration. Chris' passion for the community is evident in everything he does. His favorite part of the Y is the smiling faces of members of all ages from the moment they walk through the doors of the Y until they depart.
Ethan Hubler

Ethan has a diverse and extensive background, having spent the last 8 years at the YMCA, where he has taken on multiple roles including Membership Director, Marketing Director, and currently, Operations Director. In his current capacity, Ethan oversees the Y's Financial Operations, Facilities, Membership, Family, and Early Learning Center Departments. Before joining the YMCA, Ethan worked as a freelance graphic and web designer, leveraging his creative skills to build a portfolio in digital design. Additionally, he gained international experience by teaching English in Japan, demonstrating his adaptability and cross-cultural communication skills. Ethan holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Oregon State University, which he earned in 2009. His educational background in biology, combined with his diverse professional experience, equips him with a unique blend of analytical and creative problem-solving abilities that he applies to his multifaceted role at the YMCA.
Tino Barreras

Tino joined the YMCA in November 2021, bringing with him a wealth of experience primarily in non-profit management. Over the past decade, he has dedicated most of his career to the non-profit sector, with a brief two-year period as an Operations Manager in the for-profit sector. This blend of non-profit and for-profit experience provides Tino with a well-rounded perspective on organizational operations and management. A native of Albany, Tino graduated from West Albany High School and went on to study Sociology at Oregon State University. His academic background in sociology, coupled with his extensive management experience, has equipped him with a strong understanding of community dynamics and organizational behavior. At the YMCA, Tino oversees the Sports, Fitness, Aquatics, and Marketing departments, along with our Facility Rentals and Fundraising Events, where he applies his leadership skills and strategic vision to enhance the Y's programs and services in these areas.
Tammy Rash

Tammy began her career with the YMCA in 1996 as a preschool teacher. Over her 30 years with the Y, she has applied her background in business management, accounting, and human resources to support the organization’s continued growth and success. As Chief Human Resources Officer, Tammy is committed to creating a workplace where employees feel seen, welcomed, supported, and empowered to succeed and positively change the lives of others. Passionate about people and organizational culture, Tammy fosters an inclusive, values-driven environment grounded in caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Angela Duncan

Angela has worked at the YMCA for about 20 years in several roles. She grew up in Albany and has been a member of the community her whole life. Angela studied Children and Family Studies and Criminal Justice following high school. She loves being part of the lives of young people and supporting them throughout their childhood. To her, the positive atmosphere at the Y is what makes the difference. In her free time, she enjoys spending time at the coast, baking, and traveling.
Billie Maurer
Aquatics Director

Billie has worked at the Y for over 5 years. Prior to her time at the Y, she was the Aquatics Manager at the Stayton Family Memorial Pool. She was born and raised in the Willamette Valley and is originally from the Scio area. Billie studied at Chemeketa Community College and holds certificates as a Pump Operator, Lifeguard, Lifeguard Instructor, and as Aquatics Instructor.
McCall Washburn
Fitness Director

McCall has worked for the YMCA for the past 11 years. During her time, she's served many roles including, Fitness Instructor, Fitness Coordinator, Special Projects (Senior Activities), CPR Instructor, Water Fitness Instructor, and now Fitness Director. Before the Y, McCall and her family relocated from Utah. She holds various training certifications in AFAA Group Fitness, Zumba, Zumba Step, Zumba Toning, Bootcamp, Spin, Step, Better Bones and Balance, Water Fitness and TRX. Her favorite part of working at the Y is the unique family atmosphere we have, she believes "it sets us apart from any other gym in town". Outside of the Y, Mcall loves spending time with her husband and 6 kiddos, where they enjoy the outdoors, playing games, doing puzzles, and watching college football (GO BYU COUGS).
Jalen Schlegel

Jalen joined the YMCA in June of 2023 after working in the pharmaceutical industry for the past five years. He grew up in Albany, graduating from West Albany High School. Jalen went on to attend school and play college basketball at Chemeketa CC and Vancouver Island University in Canada. He is currently the Men's Basketball Associate Head Coach at Linn-Benton Community College.
Lacey Sapaugh

Lacey joined the YMCA team in June 2023, initially contributing to the sports department before swiftly transitioning into a management role as the membership director. Prior to her tenure at the Y, Lacey gained experience in skilled nursing. Graduating from South Albany High School in 2009, she pursued studies in criminal justice thereafter. Lacey is passionate about her work at the Y due to her love for community engagement and activity. During her leisure time, she finds joy in supporting her favorite teams, the Vegas Knights and the Boston Red Sox, as well as indulging in outdoor adventures and binge-watching her preferred shows.
Matt Soot

Matt joined the Y in September 2023. Prior to joining the Y team, Matt was a Teacher and Football coach at a private school in California. Matt grew up in Albany, graduating from West Albany. After high school, Matt earned his bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Western Oregon University. During his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, coaching football, playing golf, and cheering on his beloved Los Angeles Chargers.
Lindsay Ornelas
Early Learning Center Director

Lindsay is a dedicated professional with over 18 years of experience in administration. Originally from Alaska but raised in Lebanon, Lindsay graduated from Lebanon High School before embarking on her career journey. In January 2023, Lindsay joined the Growing Leaders team as a part-time teacher's assistant. Her passion and dedication quickly propelled her into the role of Assistant Director, and eventually, she assumed the position of Director. Beyond her professional life, Lindsay is a loving wife and mother who cherishes spending quality time with her family. They often bond over playing board games, indulging in marathons of Harry Potter movies, and enjoying trips to the beach. Lindsay finds immense fulfillment in her role at Growing Leaders, where she witnesses the joy and growth of the preschoolers daily. Knowing that she's making a tangible difference in their lives brings her an overwhelming sense of humility and purpose.
Jada Krening

Jada joined the YMCA in August 2024 with a diverse background in writing, communications, athletics, and community projects. Before the Y, Jada worked as a journalist and legal assistant in Portland and Corvallis. She grew up in Parkrose Heights in Portland, Oregon, and completed a master’s degree in Community History and Civic Engagement from Oregon State University in June 2024. As a graduate student, Jada interned with local and state public history and art projects and developed a digital public history project called Parkrose Community Archive. She also earned her bachelor’s degree from Oregon State, studying political science, sociology, and writing. As an undergraduate, Jada was part of the OSU women’s soccer team and the campus newspaper, the Daily Barometer. In her free time, Jada enjoys reading, writing, walking, running, and spending time with friends and family.
